Abbie Ames, M.S., LPCC

                                     Abbie Ames, M.S., LPCC (she/her/hers) has earned her Bachelors of Art Degree in

                                     Psychology at Miami University and her Masters of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health

                                     Counseling from Walden University.  Abbie enjoys working with a diverse group of

                                     individuals and has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, families, and

                                     couples. She has experience working with individuals with anxiety disorders, depression,

                                     relationship issues, communication issues, grief and loss, trauma, eating disorders, self-

                                     esteem, and body image issues. She utilizes an integrative approach and believes there is no

                                     such thing as “one size fits all” because each individual is unique in his or her personality, needs, and circumstances in life.  She works to provide a safe and secure environment to support clients while helping them meet their individual goals. Primarily, Abbie uses a CBT and a person-centered approach and believes it is important for the counselor and client to work together in order to make change. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and works with trauma.  Abbie’s style is warm, compassionate, empathetic, and accepting of all individuals.
