ABIGAIL GRIFFITH, LSW

Abigail Griffith, MSW, LSW (she/her/hers) specializes in working with adolescents and young adults. She graduated from Ohio State University with her Bachelors in Social Work before moving to Louisville, KY to work with middle school girls struggling to find purpose in their education. Upon completion of her service, Abigail packed up her car and moved to New Orleans where she obtained her Masters in Social Work from Tulane University. While completely immersed in the vibrant city that is NOLA, Abigail worked for the Louisiana Center for Children’s Rights until graduation when she moved back to Ohio to be with family. Prior to joining CCW, Abigail had been providing individual and group psychotherapy to youth and young adults in the community and school-based settings.

Abigail is a firm believer in the power of human connection. Creating a safe, inclusive space is essential for each individual’s journey towards healing and wellness. Her therapeutic style combines traditional, evidenced-based interventions with creative, integrative approaches to treatment. One of her favorite approaches has been to incorporate nutritional and horticultural-based exercises with trauma-focused practices. There is so much healing that can take place while working in the garden, cooking in the kitchen and eating together around a table. Additional techniques incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, art therapy, and above all, a collaborative practice between the individual and therapist.
