AL Cho, MSW, LSW (he/they) is a trans masculine, mixed race, queer/gay, neurodivergent human in a non-disabled body. His passion is serving LGBTQ+ and BIPOC folks, older adults, and people navigating aging, grief and trauma. He often leans into his lived experience with gender transition/HRT, grief, caregiving, living in poverty, polyamory, being biracial and navigating neurodivergence as a lens for compassion and building connection.

AL was formerly a chef and yoga instructor before attending the Ohio State University’s college of social work where he received his bachelor's and master's degree while working in queer aging research. His experience in case management has lent him both perspective and practice in resource connection and the impacts of social drivers of health on mental health and wellbeing.

AL’s work in community organizing has informed his anti-oppressive and trauma informed approach to counseling. He believes in eclectic strengths-based approaches to meet unique needs and honor the goals of each client. He combines practices like Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Narrative Therapy with mindfulness and play. He recognizes that doing the work in a therapeutic setting can be challenging and seeks to
build collaborative client and therapist relationships.
