Alexis Rae Burrow, LPCC-S

Alexis Burrow, MA, LPCC-S (she/her/hers) is a six foot tall, queer, white, ciswoman married to a cisman. She is a highly experienced and compassionate mental health professional dedicated to providing tailored and collaborative care for her clients. With 20 years in the field, she brings a wealth of knowledge from various settings, including community mental health, private practice, and universities.


As a Clinical Director, Alexis plays a crucial role in overseeing clinical operations and supporting her team of mental health professionals. She is passionate about fostering an environment where clinicians can thrive, specifically by supporting them in finding a work/life balance that works for each of them individually. Alexis believes in a conversational and collaborative approach to her supervision and consultation, where she focuses on the individual needs and goals of each clinician. Her extensive background as a clinician, supervisor, and educator in diverse settings allows her to provide comprehensive guidance and mentorship.


Alexis’ belief in a conversational and collaborative approach extends to her presence as a therapist, focusing on each individual's unique needs and goals to foster wellness and sustainability. She is particularly passionate about trauma treatment and is trained in specialized modalities such as EMDR, Expressive Arts, Sex Therapy, and Therapeutic D&D. Her clinical strengths lie in using EMDR, Expressive Arts, and Person-Centered counseling to address trauma, anxiety, and sex-related issues, especially within the LGBTQ+ community and for those in Consensual Non-Monogamous relationships.


Alexis also stands out for her ability to incorporate humor, fun, and silliness into her sessions, utilizing pop culture to connect with clients. She prides herself on not taking herself too seriously and finding joy in everyday moments.
 

Outside of her professional life, Alexis enjoys a variety of creative and engaging hobbies, including crochet, D&D, cooking, painting, dancing, and spending time with her two cats.
