GROUPS

Benefits of Groups

In a group setting, participants have the opportunity to share their personal stories, struggles, and achievements within a safe and confidential environment. The group members actively listen, provide empathy, and offer feedback, creating a supportive network. The group dynamic allows individuals to gain different perspectives, learn from others' experiences, and develop a sense of belonging.

See below for all of our current group options.

Trans and Gender Expansive “Stitch and Bitch” Social Group

Calling all Trans and Gender Expansive crafters! This is a group of people gathering virtually for community and conversation. We provide an online room for people to participate in all types of crafting activities, including but not limited to: crochet, knitting, coloring, painting, stitching, scrap booking, while connecting to members of the Trans and Gender Expansive community. This group is hosted by Kayla Cardenas, LPCC but it is not considered a therapy group. The identified host will encourage sharing from members in a virtual round table but discussion is not required. Individuals have complete freedom to show up late, leave early, bring dinner, leave their cameras off, or even skip sharing.

The group will meet the second and fourth Tuesday of the Month from 6:00pm-8:00pm.

The only requirement for the group is to meet with the host individually before receiving the link for the virtual gathering.

Visual Journaling

Facilitated by Spencer Oriaku, LPC and Imani Yahya, LPC

In this 6 week wellness workshop, the facilitators will give multiple prompts to create the start of your own visual journal. While traditional journaling is a common way of recording and reflecting on the different nuances of our experiences, this group will focus on slowing down our internal dialogue, refraining from negative self-talk, and reflecting on our internal experiences. Although many materials will be provided, please bring any art supplies/journals you wish to use.

This workshop will meet weekly on Wednesdays from 6:30pm-8:00pm, at CCW starting in September.

Workshops are not covered by insurance. This workshop is "pay what you can" (suggested $10-$50 per session).
