Kelsey Ward, PhD, LPCC-S (they/them) is a white, plus-size, queer, non-binary, neurodivergent therapist who is passionate about walking alongside folks as they explore identity, heal from trauma, and build lives that feel right for them.

Their work is rooted in person-centered and feminist values. This means the client is the expert in their own life, and Kelsey is simply here to provide guidance and support. They also bring a trauma-informed lens and, at times, draw on Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Queer theory, ACT, DBT, and other approaches tailored to their clients. Kelsey primarily works with teens and adults navigating gender identity, sexuality, and LGBTQ+-related experiences, though they welcome clients from all backgrounds and walks of life. As part of their affirming care practice, Kelsey also provides gender-affirming care letters and conducts ADHD and ASD identity-aligned assessments for adults.
Beyond the therapy room, Kelsey teaches and supervises counselors and counselors-in-training at CCW and as clinical faculty at Adams State University in Colorado. They also regularly present at conferences- including national, state, and regional events- and provide training to educators and healthcare providers on LGBTQ+ topics and affirming care practices. Kelsey holds leadership roles in SAIGE (Society for Sexual, Affectional, Intersex, and Gender Expansive Identities), a national counseling organization dedicated to LGBTQ+ advocacy and professional development in the counseling field, where they work to build resources and community for affirming practitioners.

When they're not working, they're usually wrangling their small zoo, which includes dogs, cats, chickens, and a ball python. They also love a good book, all things D&D, ridiculous tattoos, and planning their next trip to the mountains. Kelsey holds a PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision from Adams State University (2023), an MS from Wright State University (2016), and a BA from The Ohio State University (2012).
